The Harmonic Minor Scale
Goal
Learn the exotic, "Egyptian" sound of the Harmonic Minor scale.
The Raised 7th
The Harmonic Minor scale is just like the Natural Minor, but we raise the 7th note by a half step.
š
The Exotic Gap
Raising the 7th creates a large gap (3 half steps) between the 6th and 7th notes. This gives it that signature "Middle Eastern" or "Classical Villain" sound.
